Blackburn.

A home built for entertaining and a garden to support local wildlife.

This property is within close proximity to Blackburn Lake Sanctuary and has a number of large trees that need to be retained and protected.

These clients love gardening and with children in their young-adult years, do a lot of entertaining. Inspired by trips to vineyards, these clients wanted an open plan entertaining area with a pergola and a space to BBQ.

Instead of hiding the clothesline away, here we’ve decided to make it a feature using recycled timber posts that make a statement. The recycled timber posts of the clothesline tie into the pergola and curved timber screen. The screen creates a private sitting area within the top terrace of this garden. A mixed native and ornamental planting palette ties in harmoniously with the existing Crepe Myrtles and towering Gums.
