Clifton Hill 2.

A compact garden space with a lot to offer.

Just around the corner from our first Clifton Hill project, this heritage home is getting a modern extension and new garden. The challenge with inner city homes is the need to fit a lot into a small space, to support the lives of a growing family. The clients here wanted a versatile space to raise their family and to feel surrounded by green.

The backyard has a deck for entertaining, a raised garden bed for veggie production, vertical garden for herbs and flowering plants and shed to hide bins and utilities. A tricky narrow garden strip inspired by the clients love for Tasmania’s Overland Track can be enjoyed from the kitchen thanks to the architect’s clever window design.
The front yard gets more sunlight and provides more opportunities for native flowering plants to support insects species and another space to grow vegetables.
